Ijara is a remote community near the Somali border, marked by hardship, insecurity, and deep spiritual need. The area has faced terrorist attacks in the past, including an assault by Al-Shabaab on the very church where I later served. Fear and uncertainty have left their mark on this community.
Ijara is a remote community near the Somali border, marked by hardship, insecurity, and deep spiritual need. The area has faced terrorist attacks in the past, including an assault by Al-Shabaab on the very church where I later served. Fear and uncertainty have left their mark on this community.
For two years, God placed me in Ijara, serving at a small church located inside a police military camp. Surrounded by guards and constant reminders of danger, the Gospel still found a way to shine.
Ijara is largely a Muslim community, yet even there, the Word of God could not be silenced. We gathered faithfully, sometimes under threat, to worship, pray, and encourage one another. In those moments, I saw courage—men and women lifting their voices to God despite fear, and children listening with open hearts to the story of Jesus’ love.
Serving in Ijara was not easy. It required faith, resilience, and the assurance that God is our protector. But it was also deeply rewarding. The church, though once attacked, stood as a testimony that darkness cannot overcome the light of Christ.video of ijara being attacked
✨ My time in Ijara reminds us that the Gospel must go where hope is needed most—even in places of fear and persecution. With your support, we can continue reaching forgotten and risky places with the message of Christ.YOUTUBE VIDEO
