Do to Others as You Would Have Them Do to You Matthew 7:12

Why Do People Act Cruel to You?

Have you ever wondered why people are cruel to you? Why people don’t show you love, or why others are not kind? The world often calls it karma — the belief that what you do comes back to you. But the Bible teaches a deeper truth. Galatians 6:7 says: “Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

God’s Righteous Judgment

I believe God is the righteous Judge who rewards each one of us according to our deeds. When we commit sin, there are consequences. God is merciful and forgives us when we repent, but sometimes He allows us to face the results of our actions. Numbers 32:23 says, “But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. "This is the principle God has put in place: whatever you sow — whether good or bad — it will come back to you.

The Principle of Sowing and Reaping

Paul compares it to a farmer: when a seed is planted, it produces many more seeds. In the same way:

  • When you steal from people, you will lose a lot of money in return.
  • When you gossip, others will gossip about you.

Evil multiplies back. But the same is true of good — when you are kind, kindness will return to you in abundance.

Choosing Good

The Bible encourages us to choose good. Matthew 7:12 says: “Do to others what you would have them do to you.” Be kind to your family, your coworkers, and strangers — and kindness will come back to you.Galatians 6:10 reminds us: “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
